Setup for my first session Assembling and fitting your Muse Muse S (Gen 2) includes two pieces: the pod and the fabric band. The pod has two hooks that fit into the fabric band to help secure their connection together.💡 Make sure there's no gap between the Muse S pod and the fabric band. If there's a gap, the sensor connection won’t be complete, and you won’t be able to start a session. For consistent sensor quality, all Muse headband sensors need good contact with your forehead and the skin between your ears. Muse should sit on your ears like eyeglasses. Our article Assembling and Fitting My Muse provides additional guidance to get the best fit for your headband. Creating a great environment for using Muse For Training with Muse, it’s strongly recommended you sit in a comfortable, upright position with your eyes slightly closed.Once your session starts, your Muse will calibrate. The calibration sets a baseline of your normal brainwaves to compare against for the rest of your session. Muse is a sensitive device and will pick up even the small electrical activity from muscles around the eyes and jaw, and the brainwaves from visual processing (what you see). This can skew your session data.Read our Best Setup When Using Muse article to learn more about calibration and setup tips for consistent results. Start my first session There are lots of ways to explore your practice with Muse. For more info on the different Muse features and experiences, see our Comparing Muse Experiences article. Continue anyway (optional) Muse checks for the sensor's signal quality at the start of every session, and you may see the option to continue to your session before all of the sensors have fully connected for maximum sensor quality. We introduced this so that you can begin your session quickly! We do recommend finishing the full sensor check process so that Muse is leveraging the full suite of sensors. But even if you skip ahead, the rest of the sensors will continue connecting automatically in the background.A great way to speed up the sensor detection overall is to wear your Muse and connect it by Bluetooth in the Muse app right away, then browse to your favorite experience.
