Setup for Bluetooth Setup your iOS or Android device Make sure your iOS or Android device's Bluetooth is turned on. Have your iOS or Android device nearby to improve connectivity with the Muse. If you are using wireless Bluetooth headphones or AirPods, you should pair the headphones before connecting your Muse through the Muse app. Make sure location services are turned on (Android). Setup your Muse Charge your Muse for at least 3 hours using a USB wall charger capable of delivering a maximum 5v (5 volts) and 2A (2 amps). Chargers capable of more than 5v (5 volts) and 2A (2 amps) are not suitable for charging Muse hardware. Unplug your Muse after charging. Muse can’t be connected by Bluetooth while plugged in. Make sure you have the most up-to-date version of the Muse app. To download the latest version of the Muse app for your device, see our Downloading and Updating the Muse App article. Enable Bluetooth permissions iOS and Android require you to enable Bluetooth permissions for the Muse app. Go to your iOS or Android settings app. Tap Apps or search the Muse app. (Android) Tap Permissions, and then tap Nearby devices to allow. (Apple) Tap to allow Bluetooth. Our Enabling Bluetooth Permissions article also provides additional detailed instructions for your device. Connect your Muse Force stop the Muse app (it may be helpful to force stop all open apps). Turn off Bluetooth for 60 seconds, then turn it on. Turn on your Muse. Open the Muse app and tap the Train tab. Tap the Bluetooth circle icon in the top left corner of your screen. Tap your Muse number when it appears to connect. Additional Troubleshooting Force quit the Muse app. Turn Bluetooth off and back on. Open the Muse app and repeat steps 5 and 6 from above. If your Muse didn’t connect, restart your iOS or Android device. Open the Muse app and repeat steps 5 and 6 from above. If your Muse didn't connect, restart your device once more. If you still can’t connect, turn on Airplane Mode, then go through the above steps. After turning on Airplane Mode, you will need to turn Bluetooth back on. If you can connect and complete a session while in Airplane Mode, after the session completes, turn off Airplane Mode. You should now be able to connect your Muse by Bluetooth normally without using Airplane Mode. Multi-point Bluetooth Muse headbands do not support multi-point Bluetooth connectivity at this time.
