Enabling Bluetooth Permissions

This article covers everything about enabling Bluetooth permissions so your Muse can connect with your iOS or Android device.
 

Apple iOS 13.1 and above
Android 12 and above
Android 11 and lower
Enable Android Location Services

 

Apple iOS 13.1 and above

1. Go to your device's Settings App.

2. Tap Privacy & Security.

3. Tap Bluetooth.

4. Tap the Muse app.

5. Enable Bluetooth.
   
    

Android 12 and above

1. Go to your device's Settings App.

2. Scroll down and tap Apps.

3. Scroll down and tap the Muse app.

4. Tap Permissions or Nearby devices permissions

5. Make sure nearby devices are allowed.
   
    

Android 11 and lower

1. Go to your device's Settings App.

2. Scroll down and tap Apps.

3. Scroll down and tap the Muse app.

4. Tap Permissions.

5. Tap Location.

6. Select Allow when using app.
   
    

Enable Android Location Services

If you’re having trouble connecting your Muse by Bluetooth, it can help to enable Android’s Improve Location Services.

Android requires Bluetooth devices to access a user's location. This requires Muse to ask for location permissions in the Muse app. Muse doesn’t use location data for anything other than to meet Android's requirements for Bluetooth devices.

1. Go to your device's Settings App.

2. Scroll down and tap Location.

3. Tap Location Services or Advanced (depending on your Android version).

4. Tap Google Location Accuracy.

5. Tap Improve Location Accuracy > Turn on.
