Here's how to get the most out of it. Viewing TrendsWhat Are Trends Measuring?Comparing Trends Viewing Trends You can find Trends under the Me tab in the Muse app. There you’ll see a graph displaying your selected session result over time. Here’s how to filter your trends: Tap Training or Sleep to toggle your biofeedback training and sleep* trends. Select the result you want to view, such as Calm, Heart, etc. View the results by Sessions or Days. View in Sessions shows only the days where you completed a session with your selected result. View in Days shows all days, whether you completed a session for the selected result or not. Now that you’ve selected the data you want to look at: Swipe the graph left or right to navigate your trend timeline. Tap anywhere above or below a plot point to view the result and date. Your average result of the visible data appears in the top corner of the graph. Your all-time average is located below the graph. *Sleep session results are only available with Muse S devices. What Are Trends Measuring? Each trend in the app represents a specific metric captured during your Muse sessions, grouped into two main categories, Training and Sleep. Training Trends These reflect your performance during daytime training sessions and meditations. Calm: The percentage of your session spent in a focused mental state, as measured by your brainwave activity. Heart: The percentage of time your heart rate was below your historical average. Breath: The percentage of the session where your breathing was in High Harmony with the guided cadence. Breath: The percentage of the session you remained physically still. Strength: The percentage of the session during which blood flow to the prefrontal cortex increased — a sign of high mental effort. Sleep Trends These provide insights from overnight sleep sessions, available for all Muse S headbands. Sleep Score: An overall measure of sleep quality, incorporating duration, how quickly you fall asleep, time spent in each stage, and sleep interruptions. Slow Wave Intensity: The amount of delta wave activity, which reflects the restorative quality of your sleep. Awake: The duration you were awake during the sleep session with Muse. REM Sleep: The time spent in rapid eye movement (REM) sleep, linked to dreaming and emotional processing. Light Sleep: The time spent in the lighter sleep stages, which make up the bulk of your sleep cycle. Deep Sleep: The time spent in deep sleep, important for physical recovery and memory consolidation. Comparing My Trends The Trends feature lets you interpret your progress in different meaningful ways. Swipe through recent sessions to spot short-term fluctuations, or track long-term changes and patterns. Session averages vs. all-time averages: Compare your average for a selected timeframe (e.g., last 10 sessions) against your all-time average to evaluate improvement or consistency. Compare trends across metrics: Switch between trend types to observe how different aspects of your training or sleep are evolving. For example, you might notice your Calm percentage improving while Stillness remains steady — a sign that you're learning to stay focused even if your body occasionally moves. Date-based filtering: Use the calendar date view to identify how life events, stressors, or routines may correlate with changes in your performance or sleep. Use journaling to add context: Your session results are best understood in the context of your life. A stressful week, a great night’s sleep, a change in routine — all of these can influence your outcomes. Muse’s journaling feature at the end of each session lets you capture how you’re feeling, what may have impacted your state, and what intentions you want to set moving forward. It’s a simple way to connect the dots between your data and your day-to-day life — the human story behind the numbers. The Trends feature in the Muse app is more than just a data tracker — it's a tool designed to help you understand the relationship between your habits, your mind, and your body. By visualizing your progress and patterns over time, Trends empowers you to make informed, meaningful adjustments to your daily routine, sleep habits, and mindfulness practice. Whether you're working toward greater calm, deeper sleep, or improved focus, these insights are here to support your journey toward enhanced wellbeing. Let your data be a guide — and your practice, the path forward. PropertiesURL NameUnderstanding-My-TrendsTitleUnderstanding My Trends
