What is Practice Plan?

Opening the Muse app used to mean choosing your own path from a list of recommendations. Practice Plan changes that. Instead of a blank slate, Muse builds you a structured daily practice shaped around what's important to you.

You'll find it under the Create My Plan card on your Today screen. Once you've built a plan, this becomes My Plan, showing your goals, your current phase, and the tasks in it.

Building Your Plan

To build your plan:

1. Open your Muse app and go to the Today screen.

2. Tap Create My Plan.

3. Answer a short set of questions about your goals.

4. Muse builds a personalized, phased plan from your answers.

5. Tap See My Plan to view your first phase and its tasks.

You don't hand-pick which sessions go into your plan, their order, or the pace. Muse generates all of it from your answers.

 

Understanding Phases and Tasks

Your plan is made up of phases. Each phase is a small, achievable set of tasks, for example "3 Heart sessions" or "meditate 10 minutes, 5 times this week."

• Sessions related to a task count toward it automatically. Any Mind session can count towards a "3 Mind sessions" task.

• When you finish every task in a phase, you move into the next phase automatically.

• My Plan also shows a progress indicator so you can see how far you've come.

Why are some tasks already checked? The Muse app checks for program content you’ve already completed, so you don’t have to repeat onboarding or other educational content. Still, it may be a good idea to brush up!

 

Editing or Dismissing Your Plan

Editing your plan:

1. Open Plan Settings from My Plan to change your goals or focus.

2. Because this rebuilds your plan, you'll see a confirmation first, since editing partway through a phase means losing your current progress in it.

3. Confirm to rebuild your plan from your new answers, or choose to keep your current plan unchanged.

Dismissing your plan: You can dismiss your plan at any time. A smaller Create My Plan entry point stays on your Today screen, so you can start one later. The app will periodically prompt you again if you haven't built a plan.

 

Access and Content Availability

Practice Plan is available to everyone, with no subscription required.

What appears in your plan depends on your subscription status and your Muse headband model. Premium content isn't shown to non-subscribers, and some session types aren't available on every headband.

Because of this, two people with the same goals may see different sessions in their plans.

 

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a subscription for Practice Plan?

No. Practice Plan is included with every Muse account. A subscription may unlock additional content within your plan, depending on your headband and goals.
 

Which Muse headbands support Practice Plan?

All Muse headbands support building a plan. The sessions that appear in your plan depend on your headband model and subscription status.

Can I choose which sessions go into my plan?

No. Muse builds your plan automatically from your answers to the setup questions. You can change your answers at any time to rebuild your plan.

Will editing my plan lose my progress?

Editing your plan rebuilds it from your new answers, which interrupts your current phase. Any progress on your current phase's tasks is lost when the plan rebuilds.

What should I do if I get an error while building or editing my plan?

Check your internet connection and try again. If the problem continues, contact Muse Support.

Can I turn Practice Plan off completely?

You can dismiss your plan at any time. There's no way to permanently turn off the feature. A smaller entry point stays on your Today screen if you want to build a plan later.

Does Enso build or see my plan?

No. As of this release, Enso doesn't have access to your plan and doesn't generate it.
